An Important Update from Paragon New Zealand

Wayne and I are writing to advise you of an important development for Paragon New Zealand.

Following a thorough process over the past six months, we are pleased to confirm that Thomas James has joined the Paragon team as a Director alongside myself.

During this period Wayne and I met with a number of interested parties and undertook a careful evaluation process. Our priority throughout was to ensure that any future partner aligned with the values, operating model, and reputation that Paragon has built over many decades.

Thomas stood out clearly in that process. He is a licensed private investigator and the Director of Secure Collections & Investigations Ltd, a national investigations and collections firm, as well as Tony Lowe Investigations Ltd based in Wellington. His organisations operate with a nationwide team of employed investigators and support staff, a model that closely aligns with the way Paragon has always operated.

Secure Collections & Investigations and Tony Lowe Investigations have an established track record delivering successful outcomes for government agencies, financial institutions, and corporate clients across New Zealand. Their investigative teams are primarily made up of former Police detectives and experienced investigators, while their office teams include professionals from backgrounds including Inland Revenue, law firms, and other corporate environments. Importantly, their professional standards, investigative capability, and national coverage complement Paragon’s existing services and client base.

Secure Collections & Investigations and Tony Lowe Investigations already act for a number of Paragon clients in other capacities across New Zealand, and this transition further strengthens our ability to provide consistent national coverage and investigative support throughout the country.

Thomas joins me as a Director of Paragon, Wayne continues in his role as General Manager. Thomas joins the board as a Director and will work alongside us as we continue to develop the company.

This transition is an intentional pre-planned strategy to strengthen Paragon’s long-term capability. Through Thomas’ national team and infrastructure we are able to further expand the resources available to our clients while maintaining the same approach and standards you have come to expect from us.

Paragon has been providing specialist investigation services to corporate, banking, and government clients since the 1980s. Wayne and I are very mindful of the reputation and trust that has been built over that time, and it was important to us that any future addition to our leadership continued that tradition. Bringing Thomas and his group into the company also provides a clear pathway for the continued stewardship and development of Paragon, ensuring that the business remains strong, capable, and well supported for the years ahead.
